She was predeceased by : her parents, Vernard Powell and Marjorie Powell (Irvine); her husband Richard F. Burton; and her daughter Stephanie E. Mahn (Gary W. Mahn) of Canton. She is survived by : her grandchildren, Jennifer L. Flanagan (Andrew), Eric S. Mahn, Christina Franklin and Justin T. Mahn; her great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Liam, Aaron and Ryan; her niece Cindy Li (Al); and her nephew John Powell (Ellen). She is also survived by her family, especially her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Janis' memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Wollaston, 81 Prospect Avenue, Quincy, MA 02170.
