He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Picard (Tirrell) and Robert Picard; his daughter Nicole; and his siblings, Linda, Joseph, Brian and David.

He is survived by: his daughter Kristen Gumz (Nelio) of Weymouth; his close friend Catherine Picard of Braintree; his granddaughters, Annabelle Nicolar, Talina Gumz and Madeline Picard Howard; his sister Mary Picard (Peter Reilly) of Rye, NH; his nieces and nephews, Roxann Sheehan, Marissa Reilly, Christina Kozlowski, Robert Picard and Colin Reilly; and his sister-in-law Kathleen Picard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts.
