He was predeceased by: his wife Valerie E. Campbell (Smith); his parents, Charles F. Campbell, and Catherine Campbell, Jr. (O'Brien); and his brother Bruce. He is survived by: his children, Robert Campbell Jr. of Quincy, Susan Jones (Ralph) of Hingham, Scott Campbell of Quincy, Brian Campbell (Barbie) of Weymouth and Mark Campbell of Quincy; his grandchildren, Kyle, Brianna, Ryan, Kayla, Dylan and Vincent; and his siblings, Richard Campbell, Bernice Hagerty, Brian and Charles Campbell.
