He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Hayward and Elizabeth Hayward (Murphy); and his brothers, Ed, Bud, John Hayward and James Murphy.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hayward (Wight); his children, Elizabeth Berchick (Joe) of Maine, Kevin Hayward of Allston, Mark Hayward (Terrie) of Tortola and Jennifer MacLellan (Steven) of Randolph; his brother Robert Hayward (Patricia) of Bridgewater; and his grandchildren, Dante Benjamin and Deysha Benjamin. He is also survived by his family his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
