She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Irving and Winifred Irving (Bell); her husband Ainsley Barrington Denton; and her siblings, Darion Jones, Neville Irving and Robert Wright.
She is survived by: her children, Andrew, Ann Marie, Mark, Donna, Leon Denton, Arafat, Denny and Garth; her grandchildren, Leroy, Keismar, Zachary, Anthony, LeShawn, Shamarra, Annijah, Marley, Hailey, Makayla and Chauvan; Minnette Robinson and Patrick Irving. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sylvia's honor to conduct much-needed renovations of her church, Marley Christ Church in Adelphi, Jamaica.
