With sadness, we share the passing of Rhoda M. (Boudreau) McGonigle of Reading, Massachusetts. Rhoda, born on June 1, 1935, passed away on October 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pierre Leonelle and Lucille Mary Boudreau; her husband William Arthur McGonigle; and her siblings, Theresa, Lorena and Leonard.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Laurie M. Douglass (John), Mémère, Glamma of Lacey and Sean Douglass of Reading; her sister Lucille Rattie of Woonsocket; and her pet Lady Aurora.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home (25 Sanborn St, Reading, MA 01867). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Agnes Church (186 Woburn St, Reading, MA 01867).
Donations can be made as a memorial to Rhoda M McGonigle (mother of Dr. Laurie Douglass) to Boston Medical Center, Division of Child Neurology.
