He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph V. Chaves and Marie Chaves (Camara); and his brother-in-law Tony Arruda. He is survived by : his wife Frances M. Chaves (Marszalkowski); his sons, Raymond Chaves of Wrentham, Michael Chaves of Wrentham and John Paul Chaves (Jill) of Burlington, MA; his granddaughter Adaline Chaves of Burlington, MA; his siblings, Mary Arruda of Rehoboth, Joseph Chaves of Rehoboth, Manuel Chaves (Pat) of Rehoboth, Augustus Chaves (Margaret) of Rehoboth, Mario Chaves of Rehoboth, Lenny Chaves (Alice) of Rehoboth and John Chaves (Sue) of Florida; and his sisters-in-law, Grace Chaves and Mary Chaves. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
