He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Frank" Gleeson and Josephine Gleeson (Cahill); his grandson William J. "Willy" Gleeson, III (Krissie Sansaverino); and his siblings, Joanne Candelora, Frank Gleeson, Edward Gleeson, Mary Thomson, Herbert Gleeson, Joseph Gleeson, Theresa MaQuiggin, Thomas Gleeson, Katherine Gleeson and Elaine Bates.
He is survived by: his wife Josephine M. "Joanne" Gleeson (Russo) of East Boston; his son William J. "Billy" Gleeson, Jr. (Julie Nguyen) of Dorchester; his grandchildren, Chenelle M. Gleeson (Jeff Doucette) of Belmont, Alise M. Niolet (Marcus) of Concord and Serena DiSciscio of Concord, NH.; and his brother-in-law Frank Candleora. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beechwood Home For Funerals (262 Beach St, Revere, MA 02151). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals (262 Beach St, Revere, MA 02151). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Church (250 Revere St, Revere, MA 02151).
