He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Sweeney and Adelaide (Boomhower); and his siblings, Theresa A. Shafer, Joseph P. Sweeney and John F. Sweeney.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen M. (Crehan); his children, Michael G. Sweeney of Roslindale, Lynne M. Sweeney of Roslindale and Lisa M. Sweeney of Hyde Park; his granddaughter Amanda L. Hayes of Hyde Park; and his siblings, Christopher J. Sweeney, Kathleen B. Panos, David W. Sweeney and Mary L. Bryson-Smith of Roslindale. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
