Alice Marie Reed Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alice Marie Reed of Rowley, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 27, 2025 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Alice Marie Reed to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James P. O'Brien and Eva O'Brien (LeBrun); her grandmother Annie O'Brien (Lee); her former husband James A. Perley; and her siblings, Alma Tobiasz, Mary O'Brien, Jean O'Brien, James O'Brien and David O'Brien.
She is survived by: her friend Alice; her husband Donald B. Reed; her sons, James A. Perley, Jr. (Caryn L.) and Kevin B. Perley of Salem; her grandchildren, Bryan J. Perley (Carolina Mazzocchi) of Cambridge and Erin L. Perley (James Freyermuth) of South Easton; and her brother Alfred O'Brien of Springhill, FL. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the F.'s. Roberts & Son Funeral Home (14 Independent St, Rowley, MA 01969-0164). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary Parish of Rowley (196 Main St, Rowley, MA 01969). Alice continued working at the salon well into her 80s, stopping only when Covid regulations forced her to close her shop.
In lieu of flowers, donation pledges in Alice's memory may be made to (i) Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts, or (ii) The Trustees of Reservations.
