It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Phillip Thompson of Salem, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Thompson and Margaret Thompson (O'Meara); his daughter Kelsy Thompson; and his sisters, Evelyn Perry, Carol Francis and Eileen Sabino.
He is survived by: his close friend Marjorie Nelson of Salem; his son Nathan Thompson (Lauren) of Salem; his brothers, Carl Thompson of Salem, Robert Thompson (Stephanie) of Ipswich and Joey Thompson (Nancy) of Lynn; and his friend Jan Jefferson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Josefa Rivera de Grateraux's Funeral Service (84 Washington Square, Salem, MA 01970). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at the Harmony Grove Cemetery (30 Grove St, Salem, MA 01970).
