She is survived by: her sons, John F. Kavanaugh (Carla) of Salem and Kenneth P. Kavanaugh (Melissa) of Danvers; her grandsons, Andrew Kavanaugh of Salem and Colin Kavanaugh of Danvers; and her siblings, Ralph Brooks, Robert Brooks and Christine Roy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia's memory may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Virginia A. Kavanaugh 's name.

“I got to know Virginia and her husband John at St. Richard Church, mostly at weekly Mass. We enjoyed working together periodically on her genealogy. Her unwavering faith and prayer helped cure me of my sciatica pain, which had plagued me for over a year. It turned out that my parents, Michael and Marjorie Morano were very close to her brother Henry Brooks and his wife Heidi. I feel so blessed having known her. I am deeply sorry to hear of her passing.”
