He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Cronin and Eleanor Cronin; and his brother George Cronin. He is survived by: his significant other Ellen Cronin (Waystack); his children, Deborah Cronin-Waelde (Richie), James Cronin (Karen) and Kevin Cronin (JulieAnne); his grandchildren, Kerrianne, Andrew Pippy, Megan, Dillon Martin, Amanda, Keith McKenney, Hanna, Ryan Fay, Johnathan, Lindsay Cronin, Molly Cronin (Aidan O'Connell) and Kara Cronin; his great grandchildren, Liam, Rory Pippy, Landon, Layne, Layla Martin, Grace, Logan, Julian McKenney, Eloise Fay and Emilia Cronin; and his siblings, John and Sandra Cronin of Melrose. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home (79 W Foster St, Melrose, MA 02176). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (4 Herbert St, Melrose, MA 02176). A burial will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Wyoming Cemetery (205 Sylvan St, Melrose, MA 02176).
At the request of the family in lieu of flowers donations could be made in memory of Gerald Cronin to the Mass General Hospital for Children @ [email protected] or to the Sawtelle House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867.
