As we bid adieu to Maria's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Maria has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Lopes and Matilda Lopes. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Gabrielle and Riley; her husband Casimiro Fernandes of Scituate, MA; and her children, Phil Fernandes of Spotsylvania, Virginia and Susan (Tim) of Atlanta, GA.. She is also survived by grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Richardson-Gaffney Funeral Home (382 First Parish Rd, Scituate, MA 02066). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Nativity Church (1 Kent St, Scituate, MA 02066).
