Richard Sweeney Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Sweeney of Scituate, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 28, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Sweeney and Elizabeth Sweeney (Pero); and his siblings, Thomas Sweeney, Eileen Jenks and William Sweeney.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Sweeney (Garrity); his children, Ryan Sweeney (Lea) of Scituate and Kerin Sweeney of Scituate; his granddaughters, Sophie and Chloe; and his brothers, Robert Sweeney (Gail) of Florida, Paul Sweeney (Donna) of Maine and John Sweeney (Richard) of Dracut. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sparrell Funeral Service (1 Summer St, Cohasset, MA 02025). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary (1 Kent St, Scituate, MA 02066).
