He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Peterson and Hazel Peterson of Hanover; his siblings, Barbara Kelley (Peterson) of Hanover, Stella Leach (Peterson) of Hanover and Karl Peterson of Marshfield; his granddaughter Jessica Lynne Peterson; and his son-in-law William D. Dehler Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Marie (Sheehan); and his siblings-in-law, Jayne Peterson (Nangle) and David Kelley of Florida.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home (382 First Parish Rd, Scituate, MA 02066). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent in Wayne's memory to Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or the Prostate Cancer Foundation (pcf.org).
