He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Corbitt and Effie Corbitt (Bell); and his brothers, Ralph and Robert Corbitt. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Corbitt (Madsen); his sons, David Corbitt, Jr. of Attleboro, MA and Timothy Corbitt (Tina) of Reading, MA; his grandchildren, Christian, Katie (Nick), Patrick, Michael and Sarah; his sisters, Ruth Staugaard of New Hampshire and Dorothy "Dot" Barker of Maine; and his pet Phoebe. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
