He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Sweeney, Sr. and Mabel D. Sweeney (Arms); his daughter Janice Oliveira; and his sister Alice Leach. He is survived by: his wife Janice M. Sweeney (Souza); his daughters, Joyce Sweeney of North Dighton, MA and Jo-Ann Soares (Kevin) of Port St; his grandchildren, Ryan Soares, Kyle Soares, Alyssia Clifford and Krisa Sweeney; and his sisters, Patricia Raposa, Kathleen "Kathy" Grillo and Olive Sturtevant.
