He is survived by: his wife Karen Akins (Wilkins); his children, Kristina Akins Adelberg and Keith W. Akins; his siblings, Margaret A. Mezick of Alabama, Willine A. Moss of North Carolina and Ted F. Akins of Georgia; and his grandson Isaac Wm.
