We announce the death of Eugene O'Brien (Shrewsbury, Massachusetts), who passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 97. Eugene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank O'Brien and Margaret O'Brien; and his siblings, William, Helen, Francis, Edith, Daniel, Virginia, Harold, Jean, Claire and Marie.
He is survived by: his wife Mary O'Brien; his daughters, Mary Sewell (Gary), Peggy Papulis, Maureen Cofelice (Joseph) and Jeannie Cotillo (David); his grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristen, Claire, Sophie, Chris and Kate; his great grandchild Dallas; his sister Patsy Jones; and his brother-in-law Raymond DiPirro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home (648 Main St, Shrewsbury, MA 01545). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Saint Mary's Church (640 Main St, Shrewsbury, MA 01545).
