He was predeceased by: his former wife Nancy J. Bottcher (Greenleaf); his wife Dolores A. Bottcher (Kondrasawicz); and his parents, Frank Bottcher and Helen Bottcher (Morley). He is survived by: his children, Steven Bottcher (Diane) and Karen Weigold; his stepdaughter Deborah Congdon; and his sister Claire Stidsen. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
