He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Dr. Philip S. Hench and Mary K. Hench; his family John; his wife Lea Hench of Shrewsbury, MA; his daughters, Melissa Adams (Jeffrey Adams) of Holliston, MA and Juliann Hench of Lake Como, NJ; and his grandchildren, India Adams, Charlotte Cerami, Henry Cerami and John "Jack" Cerami.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Chiampa Funeral Home (5 Church Rd, Shrewsbury, MA 01545). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the American Antiquarian Society (185 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA 01609).
