He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Marshall Gates and Vivian L. Gates (Cusson); his father-in-law W. Michael Burns; his wife Caroline D. Gates (Burns) of Shrewsbury; his daughter Sheena Marie Gates; his child-in-law Mariusz Baczewski; his grandchildren, Aidan, Evelyn and Scotlyn; his sisters, Debra J. Prunier of Oxford and Robin D. Metcalf (Paul) of Cherry Valley, MA; his mother-in-law Diana T. Burns (Mariano) of Shrewsbury; his cousin Finn; and his pets, Sage and Theo. He was also cherished by five nieces and one nephew, as well as two aunts, an uncle.
