It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Antone David Vargas of Somerset, Massachusetts, born in Fall River, Massachusetts, who passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Antone Vargas and Martha Vargas (Lockett); his sister Joan Waring (late Donald); his extended family Lorry Kost; and his parents-in-law, Lorraine Ferreira (Furtado) and Arthur Ferreira.

He is survived by: his wife Christine Vargas (Ferreira); his children, Mathew Vargas of Somerset, Amy Gomez (Steven) of Washington, Katherine Shields (Gene) of Maine and Sarah August (David) of Maine; his grandchildren, Sofia, Alex, Kayleigh, Elaina, Hayden and Antonio; his siblings, Jacquline Sherman (late William), Jean Butler (late Louis) and Elizabeth Motta (Bruno); and his extended family, Judith Duffy, Cathy Paulson, Jacqueline Steinert and Arthur Ferreira Jr..

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John of God (1036 Brayton Ave, Somerset, MA 02726).
