He was predeceased by: his wife Leah Saraiva (Vital); his parents, Antonio Saraiva and Maria Saraiva (Furtado); and his siblings, Antone Saraiva and Laura Ferreira.

He is survived by: his children, Edward E. Saraiva (Patricia) of Needham, Susan M. Saraiva of Waltham and Stephen E. Saraiva (Tina) of Dighton; his grandchildren, Mary-Catherine Amadu (David), Michael E. Saraiva (Nichole) and Mark J. Saraiva (Caroline); his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Nora, Aidan, McKenna and Bridget; and his sister Madeline Bonanca. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
