Frank R. Swain Obituary

Frank R. "Bob" Swain, 78, of Somerset, passed away on Sunday June 29, 2014, at Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of the late Lorraine (Medeiros) Swain. Frank was born in Fall River the son of the late Frank and June (Reed) Swain. He was a graduate of Somerset High School class of 1953. Mr. Swain then served his country during the Korean War with the United States Air Force.

Frank worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Civil Engineer for over thirty years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends poolside at his home. Mr. Swain was a member of the AMVETS Post #60 in Fall River. He was a former coach for Little League Baseball in Swansea and used to play softball.

Survivors are his longtime companion: Janice Gagnon of Fall River, MA; two daughters: Lisa A. Faria and her husband Jeffrey of Somerset, MA; Kerri B. Martin and Everett Medeiros of Somerset, MA; a son: Frank "Bob" Swain of Plymouth, MA; six grandchildren: Jacob, Lucas, Josie, Laney, Danny and Sydney; two sisters: Judith Cranshaw of Somerset, MA; Mary Vasconcellos of Tiverton, RI; a brother: Bruce Cranshaw of Falmouth, MA; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was the step son of the late Walter Cranshaw and brother of the late Richard Swain and Jeffrey Cranshaw. Funeral Information Family and friends will share memories and have words of reflection for Mr. Swain on THURSDAY, July 3, 2014 at 10am in the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Notre Dame Cemetery Fall River.

CALLING HOURS will be held on WEDNESDAY, July 2, 2014 from 4-7pm. Donations Information Memorial donations in his memory can be made to AMVETS Post#60, Scholarship Fund, c/o Don Rogers, 175 Danforth Street, Fall River, MA 02720.
