He was predeceased by: his parents, Joao and Candida (Pacheco); and his brother Pedro. He is survived by: his wife Maria C. Couto (Brum); his children, Richard Couto (Maria) of Somerset, John Couto (Christina) of Navarre, George Couto (Lorna) of Somerset and Nancy Couto of Somerset; his brother Emanuel Couto of Coventry; his grandchildren, Kendra Couto, Nicholas Couto, Amanda Soares (Robert) and Dalton Briggs (Courtney); his great grandchildren, Silas and Laila; and his siblings, Joao and Clotilde Taveira. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
