She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph R. "Bob" Carrier; her parents, Vincent Defelice and Ethel Defelice (O'Brien); and her son David. She is survived by: her brothers, Frank and Richard Defelice; her daughter Debra Ashworth; her son-in-law Dick Ashworth; her grandchildren, Jon Ashworth and Kate Ashworth (Dennis McWhinnie); and her son Douglas Carrier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to the Patient Activities Fund at Sacred Heart Nursing Home, New Bedford.
