Elaine M. Whalen Obituary
The memory of Elaine M. Whalen of Somerville, Massachusetts, who passed away on July 25, 2025 at the age of 80, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Damiano DiMille and Silvia DiMille (DiPerna); and her siblings, Anne Gavin (Robert) and Nicholas DiMille (Rosemary Norten DiMille). She is survived by: her husband Kevin E. Whalen; her sons, James Whalen (Rene) of Cumberland and Scott Whalen (Kim) of Wrentham; her grandchildren, Courtney, Ryan, Jaclyn, Kenzie and Brody; and her brother Daniel DiMille (Pam) of Johnston, RI. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home (855 Broadway, Somerville, MA 02144). A procession will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Catherine Church (179 Summer St, Somerville, MA 02143). An entombment will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Woodlawn Cemetery (302 Elm St, Everett, MA 02149).
