He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Twohig and Florence H. Twohig (Sheridan); his former wife Marie Twohig (Anderson); his son George J. Twohig, Jr.; and his brother John Twohig.
He is survived by: his children, Susan M. Marchese (Chelsea Police Officer), Edward J. Marchese of Saugus, Robin Chiodi (Roger), Alice Twohig and Natalie A. Magliozzi; his siblings, Mildred "Millie" DeVelis of Billerica, Francis Twohig, Florence Shafer, Elizabeth Alfeiri and Lillian Trant; his grandchildren, Edward J. Marchese, Jr. (Jamie), Janine M. Marchese, Chelsea Police Lt (Paul Marchese), Ronald Magliozzi (Som), Kristine Magliozzi, Samantha Chiodi, Mark Twohig and Theresa Norris; his great grandchildren, Edward J. "EJ", Natasha, Nijel and Natalie; his former wife's children, Karen Aronson (Christopher) of Stoneham, Tracy Ryan (Michael) of Stoneham, Amy and Allison Ryan; and also, Anthony, Andrew and Nicole Aronson.
