He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden E. Gillis and Gertrude L. Gillis (Leary); and his brother Gerard "Gerry" Gillis. He is survived by: his wife Donna Mangherini of Somerville; his child Eryn Gillis (Nicholas Castoldi) of Woburn; his siblings, Nancy Chase, Dorrie Gillis, Joanne "Cookie" Purnell and Susan Grahovec; his sister-in-law Susan Griffin; and his nieces, Danielle, Amanda, Michelle Griffin and Megan Verge.
Visiting hours with social distancing protocols will be held on Saturday, November 28th, from 2 through 4 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Robert's name to the American Lung Asc., 1661 Worcester Rd., Suite 301, Framingham, MA 01701.
