It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William J. Gilligan of Somerville, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his spouse David G. Scholl; his parents, Francis J. Gilligan and Florence C. Gilligan (Wheelehan); and his brothers, James F. Gilligan and Michael Gilligan.

He is survived by: his pet Cleveland; and his sisters, Ann C. Keegan of Hobe Sound, FL and Julie M. Gilligan of Lawrenceville, NJ.
