He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Downey and Eleanor Downey (Severance); and his siblings, Harold "Skeets" Downey and Gayle Dirico. He is survived by: his daughter Jillian Downey; the mother of his child Amy Downey of South Yarmouth; his sister Lynne Montague of Hudson; and his sister-in-law Gail Downey of Hudson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations in Wayne's honor be sent to Sandy Paws Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box 1772, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568, because at the end of his life, Wayne's best friend was his bichon frisé, Charlie.
