We are sad to announce that on July 29, 2022, at the age of 101, Archibald B. Mahoney of Springfield, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Mahoney and Shadrach Daniel Mahoney; his wife Mamie (Hubbard); his daughter Mamie Gresham; his siblings, Iris Harris, Lena Edwards, Lily Forbes, Sofia Henry, Alton, Clarence and Henry Mahoney; and his grandchildren, Keith Gresham, Linda Jiles, Francine Jiles and Abdullah Abdul-Hakim.
He is survived by: his son-in-law James Taylor; his daughter Betty Taylor; his grandchildren, Sheila Taylor-Flintroy, Deborah McCollum, Sharon Smith, Brenda Jewell, Sandra Moultrie (Richard), Willie James Jiles, Jr., Mamie McDonald (Danny), Florine Nichols, Pamela Taylor-Gunning (Kevin), Denovia Denson, Paul Roberts, Sallie Taylor, Timothy Gresham Archibald (Theresa), James Taylor and Gene Jiles; his sisters-in-law, Gloria and Inez Mahoney; and his grandson-in-law Richard Moultrie Jr.. He is also survived by 62 great grandchildren, over 120 great-great-grandchildren.
In December 2020, during COVID, Channel 22 News acknowledged him as a 100-year-old resident of Springfield.
