She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Opalinski and Nellie Opalinski. She is survived by: her husband Robert'Bobby'McFarlin; her children, Meghan Hession (Adam) of East Longmeadow, Kathryn Giguere (Joseph) of East Longmeadow, Patrick McFarlin (Courtney) of Springfield and Elizabeth McFarlin of Springfield; and her grandchildren, Clare, Nora Hession, Abby, Teddy Giguere, Avery and Jack McFarlin.

In remembrance of Carol's life, the McFarlin family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Michael's Academy in Springfield.
