He is survived by: his wife Roberta Bright Johnson; his children, Deatrice Johnson, Edgar Johnson and Jeffrey Johnson; and his siblings, Thomas Canty, Jr., Prince Canty and Rosalyn Ali. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
