She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Avery and William Avery; her husband Bruce James Howie; her brothers, James Avery and William Hayes (Billy); and her grandson Brian Andrew Florence II.
She is survived by: her children, Brian, Carol, Mark and Gail; and her siblings, Robert Avery (Buddy) and Candi Ezyk. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers donations dedicated to community benevolence may be sent directly to the First Baptist Church – Springfield Campus in honor of Dorothy's commitment to the service of others.
