Emily Eckstein Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Emily Eckstein of Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 21, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Clinton and Murielle Emilie Irmine Heyliger; her husband Robert Eckstein; her son Richard Eckstein; and her siblings, Anne Marie McBride and Murvin Heyliger.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon Clinkscales of Las Vegas, NV, Victoria Salal of Springfield, MA, Theresa Eckstein of Springfield, MA and Christopher Eckstein of Springfield, MA.; her siblings, Steven Heyliger of Arrowhead, CA, Leroy Heyliger of Mattituck, NY, David Heyliger, Lawrence Heyliger of North Miami, FL. and Yvonne Jones-Klein of Bronx, NY.; and her grandchildren, Monique Ware (James Ware), Nicole Sanabria (Sammy Sanabria), Yvonna Eckstein, Nicholas Eckstein, Martin Eckstein, Isaiah Eckstein, Isabella Eckstein, Natasha Eckstein, Antonio Eckstein, Richard Eckstein, Jonathan Fournier, Naia-Emily Wiggins, Shari Catching, Bethany Wright and Regina Wright-Dickey. She is also survived by her many great-nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She kept herself busy volunteering for such organizations as The Arthritis Foundation, The New England Jazz Society, Goodwill Radio Reading Service and most notably for Springfield Public Schools.
