He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira James Lawson and Louise Lawson (Kimbrough). He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Lawson (Clark); his children, Michelle Lawson, Ernest Lawson Jr. (Kelly), Kevin Jiles (Ine) and Lisa Borders (Julian); and his stepdaughters, Michelle Clark, Shanekha Young and LaToya Samson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
