In loving memory of George Edward Sampson of Springfield, Massachusetts, who departed this world on April 5, 2026 at the age of 73. George leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Sampson and Flora Sampson (Thomas); his stepfather Peter Katawicz Sr.; and his brother Phil Sampson. He is survived by: his friends, Jacqueline Baldyga of Springfield, MA, David Ritchkoff of West Roxbury, MA and Paul Brown of Wailea, HI.; his niece Robin Sampson of Hampton, NH; his nephews, Todd Sampson of Wilbraham, Brian Sampson of Florida and Jesse Sampson; and his niece-in-law Stacey Mayer of Lincoln, RI. He is also survived by several cousins, and many other friends and acquaintances.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's memory may be made to New England Public Media, of which he was an avid supporter, and the TJO Center for Animals.
