He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrik Mathisen and Beatrice Mathisen (Brouillette); his wife Claudette Mathisen (Adams); and his siblings, John and Jean Ann Mathisen.
He is survived by: his children, Peter Mathisen (Kim) of Wilbraham, James Mathisen (Rebecca) of Ludlow and Kerri Niemiec (Tom) of Chicopee; his grandchildren, Julia, Daniella Niemiec and Christopher James Mathisen; and his stepchildren, Diane, John Goodrich, Debbie Plourde, Leo, Tricia Plourde, Donna, Wayne LaPierre, Larry, Annette Plourde and Scott Plourde. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
