It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary E Newton of Springfield, Massachusetts, born in Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 17, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Harold Hood and Mary Hood (Counihan); and her siblings, Harold W. (Billy), John B. Hood (Jack) and Dorothy Colapinto (Hood).

She is survived by : her children, Kathy Sowa (Ted) of Wilbraham and Tom Newton (Beth) of Wilbraham; her grandchildren, Allison Sowa, Austin Sowa, Rachel Newton, Spencer Newton and Mia Newton; and her great grandchild Sophia Spear. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
