It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Rodriguez of Springfield, Massachusetts, born in New York, New York, who passed away on December 21, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Joaquin Rodriguez. He is survived by: his mother Luz A. Hidalgo of Springfield; his siblings, Joaquin Rodriguez (Haydee) of Brooklyn, NY, Alexis Rodriguez of Springfield and Ary Barletta (Alexander) of Miami, FL; his nephews, Jason Rodriguez (Colleen) and Joshua Rodriguez (Chelsea Hearyman); his niece Jillian Cassano; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Davian Fuentes, Armani, Averi Perez, Caleb, Eva Rodriguez, Paul and Luciano Cassano; and his pet Siberian Husky Mariah "Miah" Elizabeth. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
