With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Odessa Mae Finch Howard of Springfield, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 14, 2025 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Grady Finch and Cora Mary Saunders Finch; her daughter Jessie Mae Mayfield (Howard); and her siblings, Beatrice Finch Walters, Agnes Finch Walters, Jessie, Clarence, Robert and David Finch (Jack).
She is survived by: her spouse Eddie Lee Howard; her children, Henry and Brenda; her sisters, Lucy Finch Harden, Henrietta Finch Jackson (William) and Annie Lois Finch Johnson; her granddaughter Renee Butler; and her great grandchildren, Tasia Butler, Saadiq Edmonds, Jaden Carter, Aphina Mayfield, Suheyla Mayfield, Aamir Mayfield, Khairo Mayfield, Raphael Martinez, Amalia Martinez Mayfield, Nico Martinez Mayfield and Carmelo Martinez Mayfield.
Viewing will be held on Friday, August 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Henderson Funeral Home (52 Hancock St, Springfield, MA 01109). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (426 Bay St, Springfield, MA 01109).
