The passing of Richard L. Mastrangelo (Springfield, Massachusetts) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 5, 2025 at the age of 94. He was predeceased by: his parents, Giuseppe Mastrangelo and Ersilia Mastrangelo (Lalli); his wife Rose (Manzi); his son Anthony "Tony"; his siblings, Christina Novak (Bronislaw), Norma Bassett (Louis), Vincent and Donald; and his siblings-in-law, Philomena Danise (Joseph), Kenneth Turowsky, Salvatore Manzi (Frances), William Manzi and Frank Manzi (Margaret).
He is survived by: his son John (Rosanne); his grandchildren, John and Regina; his sister Diana Mastrangelo Turowsky; and his sisters-in-law, April, Nancy Mastrangelo, Mary Gulluni (Frank), Lucy Gentile (Joseph) and Margaret Manzi. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Tazzini Funeral & Cremation Services (22 Locust St, Springfield, MA 01108). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (123 William St, Springfield, MA 01105).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Church, 123 William St., Springfield, MA 01105, or the Friends of the Soldiers Home in Holyoke, PO Box 1338, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
