He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence F. Ahern and Madelyn R. Ahern (Conroy); and his brother John F. Ahern. He is survived by: his sister Marilyn A. Kenney (Lawrence) of South Hadley; his nephew Christopher J. Kenney (Lori) of Essex, CT; his nieces, Karen A. Conway (Timothy) of Walpole, Elizabeth M. Fitzpatrick (Shawn) of Jamaica Plain and Martha E. Godfroy (David) of Hopkinton; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brian, Heather, Madelyn, William and Amelia. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory in support of a homeless shelter, Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118.
