With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley C. Marcil (Springfield, Massachusetts), who passed away on November 1, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Shirley has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Scaring and Dorothy Scaring (Burkhard); her husband Gilbert F. Marcil; her sister Louise O'Neil; and her brother-in-law Thomas O'Neil.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Sandra Matthews of Old Saybrook. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great-great grandnieces and great-great grandnephews.
