He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter L. Sr. and Stella Hojnowski (Brudjuk). He is survived by: his wife Helen A. "Chickey" Hojnowski (Granka); his children, Judy Staszko (John) of Springfield and Walter S. "Wally" Hojnowski (Caroline) of Somers, CT; and his grandchildren, Dominika Zienkiewicz (Bart), Daniel Staszko of Springfield, Samantha Hojnowski, Oliver Pomazi and Zachary Hojnowski.
