He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Murphy and Jo-Anne Murphy (O'Leary); and his siblings-in-law, Matthew Callahan and Mary Beth Callahan. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Callahan Murphy; his children, Suzanne Gassman (Chris), Caroline Pennoyer (Paul) and Christopher Murphy (Allison May); his grandchildren, Luke, Henry and Elizabeth; his siblings, Bill (Jerrine), Brendan (Jennifer), Carol Barker (David) and Bob (Mindy); and his brothers-in-law, Christopher Callahan (Anne) and John Callahan (Diane). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Solimine Funeral Home - Ocean St (67 Ocean St, Lynn, MA 01902). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. John (174 Humphrey St, Swampscott, MA 01907).
