Folker Rizo Obituary
Folker "David" Rizo: Age 59, passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2021 due to recent health complications. Dave was born June 11, 1961 in San Jose, Costa Rica. He immigrated along with his parents and siblings to Allston-Brighton, Ma and became part of the community. Dave attended; St. Columbkille High School and graduated with the Class of 1980.
He was vacationing with friends on Cape Cod where he met his wife Cheryl Reynolds and married on August 5, 1989. Dave and Cheryl settled in Taunton, Ma where they have raised their family and were active in the community. Dave loved sports, he would never miss an event whenever his kids were participating. In his younger years he was the seafood manager for Omni Foods in Weston, Ma., before embarking on a 14 year career with Roche Brothers.
He had great dedication and knowledge of produce and seafood, and his ability to make improvements for various Roche Brothers locations made him a valuable employee. Dave always enjoyed the task at hand and was fondly remembered by his coworkers whom he considered friends. He was a prolific reader and enjoyed freshwater fishing and of course local New England sports.
Recently he was the happiest when he was spending time with his grandchildren. Dave was the loving son of Eduardo and Theresa Ariza-Rizo of Stoneham, and loving husband of Cheryl A. Rizo of Taunton. Devoted father of Rebecca A. Ritchie and her husband Kevin of Taunton, and of Katie M. Rizo and her fiancé Patrick Liaknickas of Bridgewater and of Nicholas D. Rizo of RI.
Proud "Papa" of Carter, Evan, Liliana, and Patrick. Brother of Ed Rizo and his wife Denise of Braintree, Alfred Rizo and his wife Nancy of Weymouth, Thomas Rizo of FL., Genny Roberts and her husband John of Stoneham. On SUNDAY February 28 for visitation period from 3pm-6pm. A private service will be held at 6pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
